Eastside Crips Arrested
A morning bust of the Arizona Eastside Crips gang led to an arrest of 16 individuals and the seizure of over 80 firearms. The Tuscon Police Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, & Explosives, and an Arizona Department of Public Safety Taskforce coordinated the bust together. Over 250 total officers were involved in what was over a yearlong plan. Search warrants were obtained for 9 locations around Tuscon with the intent of taking down 17 members of the Eastside Crips. Several of the members have been connected to recent shootings and homicides in the city. The members face different charges, including:
- Racketeering
- Money laundering
- Conspiracy
- Participating in a gang or crime syndicate
- Weapon misconduct
- Possession, use, sale, manufacturing, and transportation of illegal substances
- Illegal control and conducting of an enterprise
While Tuscon is the hub of the gang’s activity, there is known to be Eastside Crips activity in Florida and New York as well.
